30 Questions with Colleen Leggett, Chief Operations Officer

1. Who is your hero?
– My dad, without question.
2. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
– I would live in Ireland, preferably the North Coast but anywhere is fine with me. My mom is from there. She and dad met in Northern Ireland during WWII.
3. What is your favorite family vacation?
– When I was little it was Ocean City, Maryland, have to love Thrasher’s Fries and the Boardwalk! Now… Ireland all day long.
4. What motivates you to work hard?
– Being able to play hard.
5. What is your favorite book to read?
– When I had the time, forever ago, I loved the Merlin/King Arthur series by Mary Stewart. More recently on Audible I’ve found the Gray Man series as well as the Joe Ledger series to be quite good.
6. What makes you laugh the most?
– “You’re using coconuts!” That entire scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
7. What did you want to be when you were small?
– Veterinarian then jet pilot
8. What is your favorite game or sport to watch?
– Back in the 70’s and 80’s it was the Washington NFL team. Now that their owner has destroyed them it is the Washington Capitals. Ovi is at 895! Rock the Red!
9. Which would you rather do: wash dishes, mow the lawn, clean the bathroom, or vacuum the house?
– Wash dishes
10. If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?
– Cleaning
11. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
– Maryland blue crabs
12. Who is your favorite author?
– I like Mark Greaney, Jonathan Maberry, Robert Crais, Matt Goldman, and Catherine Coulter.
13. Would you rather vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why?
– Hawaii, I don’t like snow.
14. If money was no object, what would you do all day?
– Walk around Ireland.
15. Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?
– My husband (and chocolate).
16. How many pairs of shoes do you own?
– 10 give or take
17. If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
– The power to time travel and be invisible
18. What is your favorite zoo animal?
– Otters all day long!
19. What is your favorite holiday?
– Halloween and more Halloween! It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
20. What’s your favorite type of foreign food?
– Anything even remotely Irish. Also, Italian.
21. What kitchen appliance do you use every day?
– The Keurig
22. Do you love or hate rollercoasters?
– When I was younger, I absolutely loved them. Age has changed that because they can sometimes make me feel ill.
23. What’s your favorite movie?
– I cannot do just one: The Shawshank Redemption, Jaws, and The Replacements
24. What three items would you take with you on a deserted island?
– A boat, Jimmy Buffett tunes, and an umbrella for shade
25. What was your favorite subject in school?
– Early Western Civilization & Modern European History
26. Do you collect anything?
– Not really, but I do have a thing for nice shopping bags.
27. If you had a warning label, what would yours say?
– Caution – prone to speaking her mind
28. What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee?
– If living or dead, John Lennon, Jimmy Buffett (although I did meet him briefly), and Keanu Reeves.
29. What is your favorite family holiday tradition?
– When I was little, opening presents on Christmas Eve. Now, decorating like crazy for Halloween.
